Selection

We include tools that are widely used for network scanning, monitoring or remote management, span both open-source and commercial options, and are actively maintained.

What each page contains

• A plain-English overview of what the tool does.
• Its license type and where to review the exact terms.
• The developer/vendor and a link to their official site for downloads.
• Where available, how-to guides and honest comparisons.

Ordering and commercial links

Within a category, tools are ordered by relevance to the topic, not by any commercial arrangement. Some outbound links may be affiliate links. Affiliate status does not affect inclusion, ordering or the wording of a review. See the affiliate disclosure.
